Homesteads

These works are about capturing a window into the historic west before it physically slips away. I’ve seen beautiful barns and historic cabins disintegrate and/or be dismantled, changing the landscape yet again with their disappearance. Having grown up in a two-room cabin with no running water or electricity in Montana and in the Tetons, it’s easy to imagine the hardships and necessity behind daily chores, big winters, and rural living. It’s natural to wonder about the people who lived in that time, their mark on the land and in time, and the nature of an ever-changing place.
