Three series about inhabited landscapes: the people who settled Teton Valley, the homesteads slipping away, and a personal West across Montana, Idaho, and Alaska.

Big Winter, artwork from the Teton Valley Historical Works collection by Claire Vitucci

Historical Works

These works were inspired by and pay homage to those who settled in the Tetons as early pioneers of mountaineering, skiing, farming, and raising families in the shadow of the mountains, where winters were long, and summers were inspiring. Thank you to the Teton Valley Museum and BYU-I for access to historical photographs, and to Teton Arts for providing a venue and inspiration to carry out this project.
